SCSA Writing Assessment Trial 14-25 October 2013 - Technical Readiness Test

Instructions

Welcome to the Technical Readiness Test (TRT) for the 2013 SCSA Online Writing trial.

You will need to complete this test on a representative sample of the computers that will be used by students during the SCSA Writing Assessment trial from 14-25 October 2013. This test is to ensure that all computers meet the minimum requirements to be able to run the testing software.

Please ensure you complete this test using the same access levels that are provided to students.

To complete the TRT:
  1. Please fill in the fields under the general section below.
  2. Click 'Run Speed Test'. The speed test provides feedback on the achievable download speed of your computer from our servers where the test is located. You will need to have flash* plugin installed. Please run the test on each computer in order to increase the reliability of the data produced. After the test, please type in the 'Download Speed' number in the ‘Speed Test Download Result’ box.
  3. Click 'Run Practice Writing Assessment'. You will need to have pop-ups enabled on the browser for the Assessment Master site. If prompted, please accept the pop-up.
  4. You will be presented with a practice writing assessment prompt and response page. Please enter a written response and click on 'Submit task'.
  5. Please complete the feedback questions, in order to confirm that you could view the practice writing assessment. If you were not able to view it, please describe what you experienced.
  6. Click on 'Submit Form' to send the form when finished.
*If you are using an iPad or non-flash device, go to: http://html5speedtest.me and enter the download speed value back into the TRT page ‘Speed Test Download Result’ box
